Dogs have Food Allergies too!

Do you know which foods are dangerous for dogs to eat?

Kids love pets, especially dogs. Our organization has two cartoon mascots that help teach kids food allergy awareness, Cilie Yack, a boy with celiac disease and a wheat allergy, and his funny sidekick dog named Buddy. If you are looking for a unique and fun way to teach a classroom full of young kids the importance of food allergy awareness, then you've come to the right place! These food allergy activity sheets are especially for parents and teachers. Our kid friendly activity sheets reinforce food allergy awareness by explaining how certain foods can be dangerous and even deadly for dogs. Anaphylactic food allergies are rare, but most families have pets, especially dogs. And we know as parents and teachers that dogs often get into things they shouldn't. This includes people food. Kids learn this early on when they see their dog eating grass, puking, trying to cough up food or experiencing diarrhea. All we've done here to bridge that gap is simply show kids that the same can be true for people too. These activity sheets will make your kids open up and talk freely, share experiences, and understand food allergies.

Lesson 2 food craft activity uses a lot of pears. But the kids will also get to make their own cartoon 'Buddy' out of allergy safe food and then eat it together with the rest of the group.
